Old World Builders Gives You Old World Craftsmanship

Rolfe Kuchta founded Old World Finishing, Inc. - doing business as Old World Builders - in 1997.

Rolfe got his start in the construction business when he was twelve years old at his father's construction company, Hardy Kuchta Construction Contractors, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the 1970s. Rolfe worked in the cabinet making shop of Hardy's construction company. Rolfe's skills grew with the business as he "learned by doing," working on multi-million dollar homes even as a teen.

By the 1980s Rolfe was a finish carpenter. Rolfe's experience grew to include general contracting on jobs, involved in residential and commercial work on new construction and remodeling.

Hardy Kuchta passed away in 1997. Rest in Peace. Rolfe established Old World Builders as a successor to his Dad's firm.

Our work experience includes renovation of historic landmarks, like this Victorian residence on South Superior Drive in Bay View, Wisconsin.

We're very proud of the Papa Georgio's restaurant job in Brookfield, Wisconsin. We helped the owners double the size of their facility, adding a custom bar and additional dining area surrounded by custom finish carpentry and glass. We also general-contracted the whole job, including plumbing and electrical for the additions, including an additional commercial kitchen.

We enjoy giving knowledge to our customers. We share alternatives, from different material options to construction techniques, and the impact they'll have on the finished product as well as the budget. We pride ourselves on doing top shelf work at very reasonable rates.

Exceptional work starts with good materials. It doesn't cost anymore to carefully select the best lumber. We have long-standing relationships with our vendors who know we're looking for great values for our clients... without sacrificing quality.

Billing Structure

• Straight Bid - We specify the scope of the job and materials to be used in detail for a flat, pre-agreed fee.
  
  
• Time and Materials - You establish the budget. We break that budget down by trade function (for example: electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, excavating, etc.) You're continually provided with "Allowance Reports" that give you detailed estimates and exact costs.
  
  
• Project Management - We'll estimate the job cost for you and simply charge a percentage of the cost of the job.
